This month, the excitement was palpable as 24 talented women from 15 different countries gathered at our headquarters in Oslo to kick off a new cohort of Crayon’s Female Leadership Program (FLP). The previous cohort proudly passed the baton to the new group, after delivering inspiring presentations to the Executive Management that showcased their incredible achievements.

Since its launch in 2019, the program has continued to evolve, with each year bringing new insights and the same familiar question: Why do we need a dedicated Female Leadership Program? Why not one for all leaders?

Let’s get one thing clear—Crayon is fully committed to leadership development for everyone. In addition to the FLP, we also offer a Global Empowerment Program that is open to all genders, alongside our Global Leadership Training. However, the Female Leadership Program serves a specific and vital purpose.

At Crayon, we’re deeply committed to Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). One of the ways we live out this commitment is through the FLP. Women are still underrepresented at Crayon and across the tech industry globally. We’re working to change that—not just because it’s the right thing to do, but because it’s smart business. Studies consistently show that companies with gender-diverse leadership teams perform better in terms of innovation, profitability, and decision-making. The FLP is a powerful tool to help us move the needle on gender diversity and elevate more women into leadership positions.

But it’s not just about representation—it’s about transformation. Through various program modules, our participants dive into topics like the Future of Leadership, Diversity, Leading Across Cultures, and Inclusive Leadership. The aim isn’t just to create managers, but true leaders who can inspire and guide their teams in a rapidly changing world.

Perhaps the greatest strength of the FLP lies in the connections forged between participants. The program creates a space where women from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds can exchange ideas, learn from one another, and offer support. Alumni from previous cohorts remain actively involved, keeping doors open for mentorship, sparring, and learning long after the program ends.

One thing is certain about this year’s cohort: the energy is unmatched. Each woman brings a fierce determination to grow and evolve, both as individuals and as leaders. It was an absolute pleasure to see them begin this journey, and we can’t wait to see what they accomplish next.

Here’s to empowering the next generation of female leaders at Crayon!
